Missed Event Nails Part 3 - Diwali

Can I ever post my event nails on time? Haha never! This Misssed Event Nails thing is going to go on for really long xD
This post I'll be showing you the nails I did for Diwali. For those of you who don't know, Diwali is a Hindu festival we celebrate here in India. It's like the Indian Christmas haha

I did a lattice print inspired by my outfit. (Sorry, don't have a picture)
Aaannd I used my first Dior polish!! This one is Nuit 1947 shade 970 (as if the picture wasn't enough)
I got a total of 4 dior polishes and this one was my favourite. It's such a pretty maroon, perfect for fall. Application was smooth, and it was opaque in 1-2 coats! But I think it did stain my nails a bit :/

I used OPI Alpine Snow for the dots.

I got a lot of compliments on this design and to be honest, I really like it too. It does look a bit complicated but its is actually super easy. I just used 2 types of dotting tools for this. Thats it! If anyone wants a tutorial, leave a comment below and I'll try to make one asap :)

Missed Event Nails Part 2 - Halloween

Alright this post was supposed to come "very soon" after the BCA ones but I procrastinated again. So sorry about that. I don't think anyone will be interested in halloween nails anymore (for this year at least) but I guess I'll just share what I did for Halloween.
These too were a collaboration with Yasmin (@Yazzied on IG).

I did a mummy on the index, Frankenstein on the middle, a witch on the ring, spider webs on the pinky and a pumpkin on the thumb.

Look at me trying to get my thumb in the picture lol. I find this the hardest pose to do! Whenever I bring my thumb in, my fingers go in all directions. This picture was taken after a lot of practice xD

A separate picture of my thumb :)

Yasmin's version

When I posted this on Instagram, I got a lot of comments saying I copied this from CutePolish. So apparently, whichever design she does a tutorial on, she automatically gains copyright over that. It's so frustrating because I hadn't even seen her video! Oh wait, so how did I get to know about this? :O BECAUSE THIS DESIGN HAS BEEN AROUND FOR YEARS. Surprise!! :D

I don't hate her or whatever because I think she is talented. But her 10 year old fan base is what makes me angry. I mean all because she made a tutorial on a design doesn't mean she came up with it. And even if she did, people don't have to go around yelling at others about how they copied cutepolish. I guess the whole point of her making videos is to inspire/teach people and they won't be of any use if no one follows them. Even though I don't watch her videos anymore, I started nail art because I was inspired by her. So I think if someone does a design similar to cutepolish's design, it's alright and her fans don't have to be so mad.

Okay rant over haha.

Missed Event Nails Part 1- Breast Cancer Awareness

Hey guys! How are all of you doing? I had been really busy with my exams and so I haven't blogged since more than a month!! They did get over quite some time back but I just didn't feel inspired for a new post. But I'm back now!! I did do a few manis and even won a contest (!!). This post I'll be sharing the nails I did for Breast Cancer Awareness as October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is part 1 of my "Missed Events Nails". I will do a part 2 for my halloween nails. Both of these were a collab with my very sweet Instagram friend Yasmin (@Yazzied). You all should definitely check her out!

For Breast Cancer Awareness, I did the BCA pink ribbon as an accent nail and painted red roses on the rest.

The bottle I'm holding here is Justricarda's Glossy Glam Topcoat which is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!

I couldn't get a lot of good pictures of this mani but here are the few decent-ish ones I clicked.

The base for this mani was Revlon Popular/Starry Pink over OPI Pink Friday

This is OPI Pink Friday by iteself because I loved the colour too much!

Yasmin's Version-

I was planning on entering mine in a few contests but my phone got locked and I couldn't :/

Anyways, my halloween post will be up soon and I might make a separate post with all the other manis I did during these 2 months :)

Nominated for The Liebster Award ♡♡

Last week I was nominated for a Liebster award by Patrycja from Drenched in Lacquer. While I was still writing this post, I was nominated again by Midwest Lacquered Momma!! The Liebster Award is given to bloggers to nominate other bloggers which have under 200 followers. Leibster is a German word that means "beloved person, darling, or favorite." I was so surprised when I saw that I was nominated (that too twice!) because I haven't been blogging for very long. I'm really excited for this!

Rules:
You must link back to the blogger who nominated you.
Answer the 11 questions given to you by the blogger who nominated you.
Nominate 11 other bloggers with less than 200 followers.
Go to the blogs you nominated and notify them of your nomination.
Give your nominees 11 questions to answer.

Because I was nominated by 2 people, I'll answer a few from both because there were a lot of common questions.

1. If you had to paint your nails only one color for the rest of your life, what color would it be?

It's hard to choose because I love so many colors but it would definitely be a pastel shade (they are my favs!!). Probably lilac or pink or maybe even blue (ughh I am horrible at making decisions!!)
2. Why did you start blogging?

Because I really wanted to write more about my nails, which was hard to do on instagram because most of the people didn't bother to even read the caption. And maybe even because I want to review samples ;p

3. What is one thing that most people might not know about you?

I do not own a single China Glaze polish *_*
4. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

I have no idea :s
5. Do you speak any languages aside from English?

Hindi (mother tongue) and French (but I suck at it)

6. What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Winning a monthly nail art contest

7. Are you open to trying new foods?

I don't mind if they don't look or smell weird :p

8. Where would you love to travel to?

US. I have never been there :(

9. How big is your nail polish collection?

130

10. Do you have any pets? If so, what are they?

Yes, a golden lab :)

11. Do you have any siblings?

Yes, a younger sister.

I nominate:

1. Jenna from Polish Pals
2. Tonya from Rainey Day Nails
4. Tyeisha from Lacquer Nerd
5. Sarah from Lethal lacquer
8. Daniela from Awesome Brush
9. Melody from The Manicured Amateur
11. Sarah from Polish Perfectionist

My 11 questions :

1. Since when have you been doing nail art?
2. Do you have any polish peeves?
3. What is your favorite nail paint?
4. Acrylic paints or nail polish?
5. Why did you start blogging?
6. Who inspired you to start doing nail art?
7. What else do you enjoy doing besides nail art?
8. On a scale of 1-10, how much do you think you have improved at nail art from when you started?
9. What is your favorite nail polish brand?
10. Which camera do you use for taking your nail pictures?
11. Which nail shape do you prefer?

Sorry I haven't posted anything for like 2 WEEKS! but I'm really busy with my exams and it took me so long to even finish this post! I'll try to do something soon but my exams will be over in a week so I can be regular again! ^-^

Golden Glitter Gradient

Hey guys, thanks a lot for all the lovely comments and follows. It's amazing to see such response in so little time!
Anyways, today I have a gold and white glitter gradient on my nails. I always thought glitter gradients were hard to do because the only time I tried it was on my nail wheel, and it was a fail. But when I actually tried it on my nails, I found it super easy to do!!

Polishes I used:

OPI Alpine Snow, OPI Goldeneye

And some extra hex glitter!

Isn't that tiny little bottle of glitter so cute? ♡♡
Ask below in the comments if you want to know where I bought it :)

OPI You're Such a Budapest

Last week I got one of my dream polishes!! OPI You're such a budapest. I've wanted this polish since forever! It was my favorite from the entire Euro Centrale Collection. I couldn't find it anywhere because its hard to find good OPIs here in India. It was just last week when my dad went to Russia and sent me a picture of couple of polishes for me to choose. This was one of them and I was 99% sure it was You're such a budapest just looking at the bottle. I was right. I couldn't breathe when I received it! So bear with me because I have a bit too many pictures of this as it was hard to choose just a few.

I thought the polish was a bit too thin and kind of hard to work with but I guess my expectations were too high for this polish :p
Fully opaque in 3 coats.
Dries fast.

And one last picture

Which polish was your favorite from the Euro Centrale Collection? :)

Pretty Lace Nails

I love everything lace, so I made them on my nails!

I made this design really easy as I filmed a tutorial for this and I wanted to do something even beginners would find easy.
Talking about the tutorial, I filmed it 6 MONTHS BACK(!!) but I was able to upload it only TODAY after deleting over 1500 items from my laptop *-*

Anyways here's the tutorial:

Tell me what to record next? Now that I have some space on my laptop, I really want to make more videos :)

Working with a spoilt striper - Beach Nails inspired by TheNailTrail

I don't usually use stripers for my designs unless they are really easy and can be done without thin brushes. And because I don't use them a lot, my only 2 stripers are spoilt. They have become really thick and gloopy and I can't even thin them out :/ I didn't realized that until I tried doing this gorgeous beach design by The Nail Trail

Beach Nails by The Nail Trail
My version:
My Version

I told you my striper was spoilt. I mean look at those birds! They look obese!

Beach Nails

The only thing I liked about this mani was the gradient in the background so I made a tutorial for it :)

1) Start with a base coat
2) Apply a thin coat of white polish and wait for it to completely dry
3) Paint on purple, red and orange stripes on a sponge and slightly blend them
4) Sponge it on your nails 2-3 times
5) Apply a topcoat to smooth it out
6) Clean up around your nail

Some tips to get a perfect gradient:
  • Use acrylic paints whenever possible because they blend easily
  • If you are using polishes, then wet your sponge before applying the polishes. The water will help them blend.
  • Don't press on the dry sponge too many times. Re-apply the colors alternatively.

How do you think it turned out? I think it was pretty good for a spoilt striper :P

L'Oréal Paris Nail polish Review and Swatches

Today I'll be swatching and reviewing 6 of my L'Oréal Paris Polishes - Addictive Plum, Exotic Canaries, Green Couture, Sky Fits Heaven, Rebel Blue and Ingenuous Rose.

L'Oréal Paris nail polishes

First off I have L'Oréal Paris Addictive Plum

L'Oréal Paris Addictive Plum
This high gloss maroon was such a beautiful polish. So easy to apply and perfect finish in 1 coat!
It is a little more darker in real life, especially in the shade, so here's a picture of how it looks indoor:

L'Oréal Paris Addictive Plum
Next I have Exotic Canaries.

L'Oréal Paris Exotic Canaries
This is such a perfect yellow! A yellow everybody must have.
It is completely opaque in 4 coats. Application was really easy and it dries fast so 4 coats didn't seem like much of a hassle.
Here is a picture showing different coats.

L'Oréal Paris exotic canaries

You can't really tell much of a difference between 3 and 4 in the picture but trust me, 4 coats is way more opaque.
I apply really thin coats, so you if you put them a bit thicker, you might be good in 2-3.

Next up is Green Couture

L'Oréal Paris Green Couture

Totally loved this dark, forest green polish♡
Opaque in 3 coats (2 if you apply it a bit thicker). Smooth and Easy application.

L'Oréal Paris Green Couture

Next in line is Sky Fits Heaven.

L'Oréal Paris Sky Fits Heaven

This was fully opaque in 2 coats, however you can just put on 1 thick coat.
Even one coat wasn't that bad, and it would look opaque in a picture, but you could kind of see the ridges on your nails in real life, so I went with two.

For some reason, I really liked its name. In fact it was my favorite out of the 6

Next is Rebel Blue

L'Oréal Paris Rebel Blue

Oh my God! This polish's application was a dream!! I think I like this even more than Addictive Plum and Sky Fits Heaven.
Also, you see in the picture but this has a slight, subtle shimmer in it. I'm not a big fan of shimmer but I don't mind this ;)

And finally I have Ingenuous Rose

L'Oréal Paris Ingenuous Rose

Isn't this such a pretty pink? One of my favorites!
It looks like a lovely coral under yellow light.

Opaque in 4 coats

L'Oréal Paris Ingenuous Rose

I have a little nail art on this too ;)

Puppy nails

So these are my swatches of some gorgeous L'Oréal Paris nail polishes.
Which one is your favorite? :)

Scooby Doo Nails ♡

@amylovesnewave on Instagram was hosting a 80's themed contest and I was so desperate to take part in it because she had an "intermediate" category. So I googled some 80's cartoons and games because I was born in the 90's and I found a lot of common ones. I listed them down to my 2 favorites - Richie Rich and Scooby Doo. I went with scooby doo because that existed for a longer time and also for some reason I thought that would be easier? This is what I came up with:

I did a water marble too trying to do their background like this one

But it didn't turn out as expected so it just looks like a random water marble on the side haha (I suck at water marbling)

I don't have a lot of pictures of this mani but I've had it on for 4 days! I don't usually wear something for so long(especially if its the weekend) but I really really loved how this turned out because I rarely do any characters on my nails.
Also when I started making this, it looked kind of gross and I had a feeling I would have to redo it but as I continued making it, thankfully it started taking shape.

After making this I think I'm going to try out more characters because I really enjoyed doing this♡♡

Welcome to my blog ♡♡

After seeing all these amazing nail blogs, I finally decided to start my own. Now, I don't really have a good experience with blogging. I had already written this welcome post on the blogger app on my phone but when I decided to publish it this morning, IT HAD DISAPPEARED ! I used to blog earlier too about random stuff but I never really took it seriously and eventually got bored of it and even kind of started to hate blogging. I usually (actually only) post my nails on Instagram but I can't really write much over there about them so I thought, why not start blogging again?

Another major reason I'm doing this is because I've always wanted to receive items for reviewing and apparently instagram doesn't count and you've got to have a blog or a youtube channel. Now I barely post anything on my youtube channel because 1) I'm too lazy to record and edit videos 2) I can't do reviews there because I hate my voice and don't talk in my videos and I don't see the point in doing a written review on youtube.

So I'm not going to make this post really long because I've already lost my original post which had so much more stuff in it and I can't remember everything anyways ;p.
This will mainly be a nails only blog. I'll post nail art, swatches, reviews, tutorials, etc. and I'll try to post as frequently as possible.
And I wil LOVE LOVE LOVE you forever if you could follow me ♡ I've noticed its really hard to get followers on blogger but it would be great if I could even get a few :) Thanks to my mom and my amazing ig friend Jenna, I already have 2 even before my first post xD
